He watched as the women slowly ventured out for breakfast, He smiled and said good morning to each of them, not expecting much by the way of a response. Those that did respond to him caught him off guard.
"Nice touch."
"Thought you might like it." He said with a smile, he was trying to be sweet, although it was a foreign concept to him he had heard of it many times...
He took a sip from the cup as he listened.
"I got a description of Ginny's sister. Oh, and I just remembered that the sisters of Gaia, of a place not to far off the road. We can drop them off there. They'll be safe. I can't believe I didn't remember before."
He thought for a moment, he was not familiar with the sisters but he was learning to trust Ava and so he nodded in agreement with that part of the plan.
"As soon as you and the others are packed and ready we should be on our way."
He went over to the hut and after making sure no one was left inside he dropped it, bundled the pieces up into several piles and strapped them to his pack. Taking them with him would ensure not having to scrounge too much in the future, but now he needed a horse to carry some of the weight. 'I'll have to find a decent one once we get into town, then we'll search for Ginny's sister.' he thought to himself.
"Ready when you are ladies. Ava if you'd be so kind as to lead the way."

Ava gave a nod of her head. She began to clean up when everyone was finished, which didn't take very long. Some of the women watched Joxer take down the shelter he had made the day before. It Ava wasn't mistaken it looked like two of them were forming a little crush on him too. Here today, gone tomorrow... Ava wrapped the cutting knife back up and stuck it in her pack before closing it up. She poked her finger through one of the holes made by the arrow that had shot through. She'd patch it up later.
Ava began kicking some dirt onto the fire to put it out. She could have used the water, but that would give away their location to anyone that might be looking for them, and she had a feeling that giving their position away was the last thing Joxer wanted. After the fire was out, Ava kicked and moved the stones that had surrounded the fire out of a circle. And that was ll she knew about making it look like no one had been there. Joxer was of course bound to know more.
"Ready when you are ladies. Ava if you'd be so kind as to lead the way."
"Sure," Ava looked at the women. "we'll be dropping you off to stay with the sisters of Gaia. You'll be safe with them, and they can also help you get back to your homes if that is where you'd like to go." Ava motioned with her hand after slinging her pack on her shoulder. "This way."
Ava led the way to the sisters of Gaia, not doubting any step that she took.
"After you drop us off where are you going?"
"Well, Yara," Ava had learned almost everyones name by now. "my guess is that Joxer and I will first pick up a few things before going on a rescue mission over seas." Ava started walking on top of some large rocks that trailed one in front of the other. Her arms were outstretched for balance.
"Aren't you afraid?" Ava looked over her shoulder at Tress. "What's there to be afraid of?" Ava questioned of Tress. "It's just another adventure. Alright, it takes place overseas, but I see no reason for fear." Ava hopped down off the large rocks. "She'd not afraid because Joxer is going with her." Rach commented. Ava let out a breath. No comment worked best right now as she was not going to get into a pointless argument.
"Well, what do you know, we're here!" Ava gestured to the doors of the building. She entered first. As she expected there were people there other than the sisters. Some were praying, others were resting, and a few were eating.
A sister came up to her. The lines on her forehead, around hers eyes, and above her lips showed told that she was one of the older sisters that withstood the test of time. "May I help you?" The sister asked with a soft tenderness. "Yes sister," Ava replied in a hushed tone so that the resting ones could continue to rest and the ones praying could do so without interruption. "these women were freed from becoming slaves, and they need a place to stay, maybe even help finding their homes if possible."
The older sister nodded and called two other sisters over, one of whom Ava knew from a previous encounter. "Caite?" "Ava!" The two hugged like old friends. "Oh I missed you." "I missed you too, Caite. How did you get here? I thought you were still serving in Athens."
Caite told Ava the story as she helped her sister escort the women in and give them a place. Caite then asked about her. "I'm leaving Corinth with my new traveling companion, Joxer. We're to be leaving to search for Ginny's sister."
"Oh, well take care."
"You too, which reminds me." Ava took her pack off her shoulder and opened it up and handed Caite a scroll. "I wrote this one with you in mind. I'd like you to keep it." Ava then went back over to the elder that she had greeted them. She handed the sister one of her scrolls. "A donation to do what you like with."
The sister thanked her.
"Bye, and thank you." Ava waved to the women, the sister and her friend Caite."

As they headed away from the camp site, Joxer brought up the rear to make sure no one was left behind. He stopped at the fire pit and saw she had done a decent job of hiding the fire ring, he then grabbed some brush from near by and used it to sweep away some remaining debris before scattering it around as if the wind had sent it there, then followed the women down the road, trying not to eavesdrop and listening to their chats anyway as he listened for others on the road.
At the Sisters, he waited out of site and away from the door. Te last thing he needed was to scare the sisters or weary travelers by his presence there. He listened to Ava talk with the sisters and it seemed she knew one of them quite well, she even gave them a couple of her scrolls.
"Bye, and thank you."
It seems it's time for them to be headed on down the road, Joxer met her and followed along side her for a while in silence...
